معرفی
Per Michael Johansen serves as Rector of Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark's leadership position overseeing all academic and administrative functions. His career spans research leadership at Risø National Laboratory, Dean of University of Southern Denmark (2007-2014), and Managing Director of Svendborg International Maritime Academy (2005-2006).
His academic credentials include:
- DSc in Physics, University of Copenhagen (2001)
- PhD in Optics, Forskningscenter Risø / Aalborg Universitet (1986-1989)
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering (1981-1986)
Johansen's research centers on Materials Science with expertise in crystalline structures, optical materials, and electromagnetic properties. His fingerprint analysis shows 100% specialization in Material Science, particularly glass transition temperatures (66%), anisotropy (55%), and space charge phenomena (51%). Recent work bridges physics and medicine through intra-body permittivity modeling for wireless medical devices.
His publication trends reveal dual trajectories: technical research in biomedical sensors since 2014 and policy commentary on higher education's societal role. The 2021-2017 works emphasize university-industry collaboration and institutional stability in democracies, while 2015-2014 studies focus on electromagnetic modeling for capsule endoscopy.
He holds these national honors:
- Ridder af 1. grad af Dannebrogordenen (2020)
- Ridder af Dannebrogordenen (2011)
Johansen actively shapes Danish academia through board leadership including Tall Ship Aalborg Fonden (Chairperson), FORCE Technology (Vice Chairperson), and ATV presidency appointment (June 2025). His mentorship extends through AAU's problem-based learning framework and industry partnerships.
At Risø National Laboratory, he directed the Optical Materials research programme (1996-2000), developing experimental methodologies for chromophore analysis and permittivity measurement that underpin his later biomedical applications.
