Penny Holton Craig is a Senior Lecturer (Learning & Teaching) in the Department of Digital Arts and Animation at Teesside University, where she has been a full-time faculty member since 2009. She currently leads the Computer Character Animation course and collaborates with industry on visual effects projects for feature films. Previously, she co-founded Skaramoosh, an independent animation and design company, which produced work for BBC, Discovery, and Disney Channels. Her career spans over two decades in animation, including roles as a senior animator, company director, and freelance artist.
Her research interests focus on integrating academic and commercial animation practices, particularly in visual effects (VFX) for documentaries and historical narratives. She has contributed to films like Last Man on the Moon and Mission Control, blending technical animation skills with storytelling.
Her recent projects include title sequences and motion graphics for documentaries, emphasizing dynamic visual storytelling. Penny’s work bridges creative design, technical animation, and educational innovation in digital arts.
