Dr. Peng Wang is an Associate Professor of Innovation Studies at Swinburne University of Technology’s School of Business, Law and Entrepreneurship, within the Department of Management and Marketing. His research focuses on statistical models for social networks, including ERGM and ALAAM, with applications in public health, innovation management, and climate change. He developed the PNet software suite for network analysis and co-founded the Swinburne start-up SNA Toolbox to translate research into practical solutions. His work has been recognized with the Freeman Award (2022) and Robins Award (2023).
Education: PhD and Postgraduate Diploma in Science from The University of Melbourne (Australia), BSc in Computer Science (University of Melbourne).
Research interests include social network analysis methodologies, interdisciplinary applications of SNA, and knowledge transfer in organizational networks. He has led grants on topics like public health networks, innovation in multinational firms, and climate action strategies. Teaching emphasizes integrating research into practice through courses on SNA and industry-linked projects.
Leadership roles include Associate Director of the Centre for Transformative Research and Innovation (CTI), co-leader of the Social Network Research Laboratory (SNRL), and President of ANSNA (2022). Awards include Dean’s Award for PhD Thesis (2014) and I2 Citation Award (2012).
