Peng Gao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at North Carolina State University's College of Engineering. He leads the Collaborative Robotics (CoRob) Lab, focusing on collaborative autonomy, multi-robot coordination, and human-robot interaction.

His research spans robotics, machine learning, and computer vision, with applications in autonomous driving, manufacturing, agriculture, and environmental monitoring. Key themes include collaborative perception, decision-making in adversarial environments, and multi-robot teaming.
Recent publications highlight advancements in collaborative navigation and perception at CoRL 2025, IROS 2025, and ICRA 2025. He received the IROS 2023 Best Paper Award for Agri-Robotics.
