Peng Chen is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Affairs at the University of South Florida (USF), affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in Urban Design & Planning from the University of Washington and has prior academic positions at Tongji University and Harbin Institute of Technology in China. His research focuses on transportation planning, urban development, and data-driven policy analysis, with expertise in spatial regression, time-series analysis, and machine learning applications.
Chen's work addresses travel behavior, shared mobility systems, autonomous vehicles, and the interplay between transportation and land use. His research has been funded by institutions like the National Institute for Congestion Reduction (NICR) and the U.S. Department of Education. Notable achievements include recognition as a World's Top 2% Scientist (2020-2024) and Best Paper awards at international conferences.
