Pelicci Pier Giuseppe

Pier Giuseppe Pelicci is a Full Professor of Pathology at the University of Milan and Scientific Co-Director of the European Institute of Oncology (IEO), Milan. He holds leadership roles including Chairman of the Department of Experimental Oncology at IEO and President of TTFactor Srl, a technology transfer company. His academic career spans positions such as Visiting Professor at New York Medical College and Associate Professor of Oncology at the University of Parma.

He earned his MD (Summa cum laude) and PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Perugia. His research focuses on Cancer Stem Cells, Cell Cycle Control, and Genomics, with contributions to understanding leukemia and breast cancer biology. He has received over 20 prestigious awards, including the 2012 Premio Città di Firenze and the Swiss Bridge Award (2007).

Pelicci leads major initiatives like the SEMM Foundation (European School of Molecular Medicine) and serves on scientific advisory boards for institutions worldwide. His work integrates molecular biology, oncology, and translational research to advance cancer treatment strategies.
