Peggy Jones

Peggy Jones is an Associate Professor of Black Studies and Associate Director of the Women's and Gender Studies program at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), housed within the College of Business Administration. She is affiliated with the Center for Collaboration Science and serves on the Nebraska Arts Council Artists Directory and Humanities Nebraska Speakers Bureau. Her work bridges Black Aesthetics, language studies, and identity politics.

Research focuses on intersections of race, gender, and language, including white privilege and media representations. She has produced plays like *The Journey* (2013) and *Omaha's Forgotten Century* (2015), and authored chapters in scholarly works such as *African American Women's Language: Discourse, Education and Identity*. Recent publications include essays analyzing the Sheldon Art Museum’s permanent collection.

Her teaching spans Black Theatre, Medical Humanities, and Women’s Studies. Jones holds an M.F.A. and actively contributes to interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of art, culture, and social justice.
