Peggy Ilene is a retired Lecturer in Aikido at Cal Poly Humboldt, affiliated with the School of Applied Health. She taught PE 112 Aikido to college students from 1996 until her retirement in Fall 2024. Her expertise combines martial arts with spiritual practices, reflecting her deep commitment to mindfulness and technique.
Education & Background: Peggy began training at Northcoast Aikido in 1982 and attained the rare 'Mudan' rank (symbolizing emptiness and transcendent skill) in 2008, recognized for her gentle yet powerful technique and selfless dedication to others.
Research Interests: Peggy’s work focuses on the philosophical and physical dimensions of Aikido, emphasizing harmony, non-violence, and spiritual growth through movement. Her teachings integrate traditional martial arts principles with modern health and wellness practices.
