Peg Hughes

Peg Hughes is a Professor and Coordinator of Early Childhood Special Education Programs in the College of Education at San José State University. She holds a PhD from UCLA (1993) and researches early childhood development in children with visual impairments and Down syndrome. Her work examines emotion recognition, caregiver-child interactions, and social behaviors in achievement contexts. Publications include national surveys and behavioral studies focused on service delivery and developmental support.
