Pedro Rafael Gil Monte is a Full Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology in the Department of Social Psychology at the University of Valencia, Spain, within the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy. He is the Director of the UNIPSICO Group of Psychosocial Research on Organizational Behaviour, a leading research unit in occupational health psychology.
- Education: PhD in Psychology (University of La Laguna, 1994, cum laude); Master's in Human Resources Management (Valencia School of Business Studies, 1990); BA in Psychology (University of Valencia, 1988).
- Prior Roles: Associate Professor at University of La Laguna (1991–1999); Co-Director of the Master’s in Occupational Risk Prevention (2015–2018).
Dr. Gil-Monte’s research centers on occupational stress, burnout, psychosocial risks, workplace bullying, and mental health at work. He has developed key assessment instruments such as the Spanish Burnout Inventory (SBI) and the UNIPSICO Battery for evaluating work-related psychosocial factors. His work integrates theory, measurement, and intervention in organizational settings.
His recent publications reflect a strong focus on cross-cultural validation of burnout measures, mental health impacts during the pandemic, emotional labor, and workplace violence in educational sectors. These studies span diverse populations across Europe and Latin America, emphasizing psychometric rigor and practical relevance.

He leads the UNIPSICO research group, which conducts applied research on psychosocial risks, develops prevention programs, and collaborates with public and private organizations. The team focuses on translating research into practice, particularly in healthcare, education, and public administration sectors.
