Pedro Lopes de Almeida

Pedro Lopes de Almeida is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Portuguese at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He specializes in 19th- to 21st-century literature from Portugal, Brazil, Angola, and Mozambique, with a focus on ecology, queerness, and decoloniality. His work intersects literary theory, cinema studies, and object-oriented ontologies. Previously, he taught at Brown University and UC Santa Barbara, supported by fellowships like the Mellon Graduate Fellowship and the Instituto Camões, IP.
