Pearl Young is an Assistant Professor of History at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, within the College of Human Sciences and Humanities. Her research explores the intersections of religion, culture, and politics in 19th-century America, with a focus on the American South, Civil War, and women's roles in historical contexts.
