Pearl Han Li is the 2024-25 Anna Julia Cooper Fellow at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, affiliated with the Department of Psychology. Starting Fall 2025, she will assume the role of Assistant Professor. Her work focuses on developmental psychology, particularly moral development, social cognition, and testimonial learning in children across cultures.
Research interests include understanding how children form moral judgments, the influence of cultural contexts on ethical reasoning, and the role of social interactions (e.g., trust in friends, group dynamics) in cognitive and moral learning. She also investigates how children evaluate informants and process information from diverse sources, including the implications for educational environments and technology use.
Her articles explore topics like cross-cultural moral dilemmas, the impact of student-teacher relationships on social competence, and cognitive processes in language acquisition. While no scientific awards are explicitly listed, her contributions highlight innovative approaches to developmental psychology and education.
Future work includes transitioning into her faculty role, where she will continue examining moral development and social learning mechanisms, with potential collaborations on educational interventions and cultural psychology studies.
