Payel Datta is a Research Fellow in the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at Albany Medical College, affiliated with Dr. Dale Tang's research group. She is part of the Linhardt Research Labs and the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies. Her research focuses on metabolic engineering of heparan sulfate/heparin biosynthesis in mammalian cells and media optimization for recombinant antibody production using high-throughput 3D DataChip platforms.
Research Interests:
- Modulation of biosynthetic enzymes for anticoagulant heparin production
- High-throughput analysis of cell growth and antibody production
- Metabolic pathway engineering in mammalian systems
