Lanhong Zheng

Lanhong Zheng is an Associate Professor at the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, part of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences (CAFS). She also serves as a Visiting Scholar at The Linhardt Research Labs, affiliated with the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY.

• M.S. in Marine Biology (2004), Ocean University of China

Her research focuses on:

• Purification and identification of biologically active peptides, proteins, and polysaccharides from marine organisms
• Gene cloning, plasmid construction, and recombinant protein expression techniques
• Using zebrafish models to study cell proliferation, migration, apoptosis, and signal transduction pathways
• Applications of marine biotechnology in pharmaceutical and biomedical research
