Dr. Payal Sood is a Lecturer in Research Methods at Swansea University, affiliated with the School of Health and Social Care and the Department of Therapies. She holds a PhD from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (Swansea), following an MSc in Psychology from the University of Sunderland and an MA in India. Her research focuses on stress management interventions, chronic pain, and the experiences of healthcare professionals and ethnic minorities in healthcare and education. She teaches on osteopathy, paramedic, EMT, and healthcare science programs.
Key research interests include developing brief self-help interventions, understanding stress coping mechanisms among caregivers, and exploring the psychological effects of chronic pain. Dr. Sood has presented her work at conferences such as the BPS Welsh Branch Annual Conference (2015) and the Division of Health Psychology Annual Conference (2015).
She supervises postgraduate research and contributes to modules like Applied Psychology and Evidence-Based Practice. Her recent publications address nature-based therapies in mental health and osteopathic education frameworks.
