Paweł Łokić

Paweł Łokić serves as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Communication at Adam Mickiewicz University's Faculty of Political Science and Journalism. A member of the Polish Society of Social Communication, he made history as Poznań's first doctoral graduate in social communication/media studies (2019) and won the DOCTORAT '19 award for his thesis. His academic journey began during doctoral studies, where he developed the popular elective course Journalist Through the Lens: The Image of the Profession in Popular Culture.

Dr. Łokić's research centers on mass communication dynamics in digital environments, with emphasis on journalists' evolving roles, populist communication patterns, and intersections between popular culture and media systems. His methodology combines quantitative analysis of hundreds of Polish television/press reports with examinations of social media platforms like Twitter, exploring phenomena such as journalist commodification, celebrity culture, and hate speech online.

His publications from 2016-2020 reveal consistent focus on journalism's transformation through technological disruption, particularly analyzing Polish media's political parallelism and new media's impact on professional identity. Key contributions include comparative studies of parliamentary coverage across platforms and theoretical frameworks for understanding internet communication phenomena.
