Paweł Lesiński is an Assistant Professor (adiunkt) at the Faculty of Law and Administration of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS), affiliated with the Department of Political-Legal Doctrines and Roman Law. He holds a PhD in Law from UMCS (defended with distinction in 2020) and is a practicing attorney (radca prawny) registered with the Lublin Bar Association. He collaborates with Wyższa Szkoła Przedsiębiorczości i Administracji w Lublinie, teaching courses including Civil Law, Commercial Law, and EU Legal Protection Systems.
His research examines German legal/political thought, constitutional foundations of welfare states, human rights evolution, and property rights theory. Key focus areas include German liberalism (especially Robert von Mohl), subsidiarity in governance, and social dimensions of constitutional law. Publications analyze historical contexts like the 1848 Revolutions and Weimar Republic alongside contemporary German/Polish constitutional systems.
Lesiński received significant recognition including a DAAD Scholarship (2018), PRELUDIUM 15 Grant from Poland's National Science Centre (2019), multiple Rector's awards for publications, the Homo Didacticus teaching prize (2023), and scholarships from UMCS and Lublin's municipal program. He serves as disciplinary ombudsman for UMCS students, supervisor of the Scientific Circle of Political and Legal Doctrines, and editorial board member of Glosa: Prawo Gospodarcze w Orzeczeniach i Komentarzach. He is active in the DAAD Fellows Association (secretary), Polish Legal History Society, and IVR Philosophy of Law section.
