معرفی
Pawel Wagner is a Principal Fellow at the Intelligent Polymer Research Institute within the Australian Institute for Innovative Materials at the University of Wollongong. He has held academic positions at Shinshu University in Japan as a Specially Appointed Visiting Associate Professor, Massey University in New Zealand as a Senior Research Officer, and Silesian University of Technology in Poland as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Wagner earned his PhD, MSc, and MEng from Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland. His postdoctoral training included work at Massey University in Organic Chemistry and at Hasselt University in polymer chemistry.
His research focuses on synthesis of organic and organometallic materials for energy harvesting and conversion. His work spans organic chemistry, organic chemical synthesis, physical organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and macromolecular and materials chemistry. Recent research has centered on conducting polymers, CO2 reduction catalysts, dye-sensitized systems, and energy conversion materials, with particular emphasis on electron transfer processes and molecular design for improved performance.
Wagner's research output shows a strong trend toward developing materials for sustainable energy applications, with significant work in electrocatalysis, photoelectrochemistry, and conducting polymers. His publications demonstrate expertise in molecular design, electron transfer kinetics, and materials synthesis for energy applications.
He serves the scientific community through journal reviewing for Biomacromolecules, New Journal of Chemistry, Synthetic Metals, and Journal of Organic Chemistry.
Wagner actively supervises numerous PhD students working on projects related to energy materials, membranes, and electrocatalysts. His grant funding includes significant projects from the Australian Research Council and Australian Renewable Energy Agency, including 'Asymmetric Biomembranes for Blue Energy Harvesting' and 'Bio-Inspired Hydrogen Generation by Novel Bubble Free Electro-Catalytic Systems.'
