Pawel M. Kozlowski is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Louisville, specializing in computational chemistry and the study of vitamin B12-dependent enzymes. His research focuses on electronic structure theory (DFT, CASSCF, MP2) and QM/MM methods to elucidate catalytic and photolytic mechanisms of AdoCbl and MeCbl-dependent enzymes.
- Education:
- PhD in Physical Chemistry, University of Arizona (1992)
- Postdoctoral Research Associate, Indiana University (1992–1994)
- Postdoctoral Research Associate, University of Arkansas (1994–1996)
- Research Staff, Princeton University (1996–1999)
Research interests include Co-C bond photolysis, enzymatic catalysis, cobalamin-mediated methyl transfer, and applications in light-activated drug design, DNA photo-regulation, and OH radical generation. Collaborations span experimental groups globally.
