His administrative leadership includes Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation (2009), Vice-Dean for Science and International Cooperation (2009), and Director of the Francophone University Center (2016), reflecting deep institutional commitment to academic governance and international collaboration.
His educational background comprises four advanced degrees:

- Diploma in French Language and Literature from Faculty of Philosophy, Novi Sad
- Diplôme des études approfondies (DEA) from Université Paris XII
- Doctorate in Comparative Literature from Université Paris III
Sekeruš's research centers on Comparative Literature and imagological studies examining how tradition, historical context, and ideology shape authors' perceptions of the Other. French literature serves as his primary analytical framework across Romanticism, Realism, Symbolism, and early 20th-century movements. His work bridges textual analysis with epistemological and cultural history perspectives, emphasizing the evolution of theoretical doctrines within broader cultural systems.
His publications reveal a sustained focus on South Slavic representations in French culture (19th to 20th centuries), evolving toward contemporary Serbian identity studies through material culture like banknotes. Key interdisciplinary trends include the intersection of national narratives with memory politics, ideological frameworks in literary criticism, and cross-cultural transmission mechanisms.
Award highlights:
- French Ministry of Education Knight's Order (2008) for advancing French language/culture in Serbia
- Two French Government Scholarships (1990/91 and 1995/96)
- Higher Education Program Scholarship (HESP) for Prague/Paris research (1995/97)
As Master's Program Coordinator for Conference Interpreting (2014) and Ministry Commission member for Scientific Researcher Titles (2015), Sekeruš guides academic development while his Vice-Rector role oversaw university-wide research grants and international partnerships. His directorship at the Francophone University Center (2016) continues this institutional bridge-building with France.
He remains active in academic leadership and research through the Francophone University Center, having previously served on the Museum of Contemporary Fine Arts Board (2002) appointed by Vojvodina's Provincial Assembly.
