Pavel Snopok is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Physics at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), affiliated with the Lewis College of Science and Letters. He holds dual M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Michigan State University and St. Petersburg State University, Russia. His research focuses on accelerator physics, neutrino physics, and computational modeling with applications to muon colliders and beam dynamics.
Snopok leads major international collaborations including DUNE (Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment), LBNF (Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility), and NOvA. His work includes advancing neutrino oscillation measurements, ionization cooling for muon beams, and novel beam simulation techniques like circular modes. He also explores machine learning applications for neutrino detector optimization and beam quality analysis.
