Pavel Pavlovitch

Assoc. Prof. Pavel Pavlovitch, PhD, is a permanent Associate Professor at the Department of Arabic Studies and Semitology within the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". He holds a PhD in History (awarded in 1998) and an academic title of Associate Professor (2005), specializing in medieval Islamic history and pre-Islamic Arabian culture.

Recent academic activities focus on Qur'anic terminology, stoning practices, and cross-confessional influences. He has held editorial roles at Orientalia and Manas journals, and participated in over 20 international conferences including ICANAS and European Arabists' Congresses.
