Dr Pauline Nelson is a Research Fellow (NIHR) in the Management School at the University of Sheffield, focusing on new models of health and social care delivery. Her work emphasizes workforce skill-mix changes, digital health systems, and boundary work in healthcare organizations. She holds a PhD from the University of Manchester (2010) and previously researched family experiences of congenital facial differences.

Research Interests: Her studies explore digital health innovation, qualitative methodologies, and the organizational challenges of implementing new healthcare roles and technologies. Recent projects include evaluating pandemic-era digital symptom tracking in care homes and analyzing clinician-patient communication in psoriasis care.
Advising & Grants: As part of the NIHR New Roles in Mental Health Project, she investigates healthcare workforce restructuring. Collaborative work includes the IMPACT psoriasis comorbidity program and Pso Well® patient education initiatives.
Labs/Teams: She contributes to the Organisation Studies Research Cluster, examining healthcare systems and organizational dynamics.
