Pauline Kerr

Dr Pauline Kerr serves as Fellow and Director of Studies in the Department of International Relations at the Australian National University (ANU), holding this position since January 2004. She teaches core courses in the Master of Diplomacy program including Negotiation and Conflict Management and Contemporary Challenges in Diplomacy, while maintaining active research in Asia-Pacific security dynamics.

Her academic foundation includes Honours and PhD qualifications from ANU itself. Research interests concentrate on conflict management and diplomacy in the Asia-Pacific, with specialized focus on peacemaking negotiations in Southeast Asia and Pacific internal conflicts, traditional and human security frameworks, and evolving diplomatic norms in maritime disputes like the South China Sea.
