Paulette Guitard is an Associate Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, Université de Montréal. She joined the faculty in 1992 and served as Director of the Occupational Therapy Program from 1994 to 1997. Her teaching focuses on foundational principles of assessment and intervention in occupational therapy.
She holds a BSc in Occupational Therapy (1985, Université de Montréal), an MEd in Education (1993, Université du Québec à Rimouski), and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (2003, Université de Montréal), with her doctoral thesis examining playful attitudes in adults.
Her research interests include: adult playful attitudes, occupational therapy in sexual rehabilitation, program evaluation, fall prevention strategies, assistive technology applications, and environmental adaptations. She actively supervises graduate students, including current advisee Shawn Richardson.
