Paula Rymer is a Professor of Social Work at Marshall University, currently based in Prichard Hall. She specializes in clinical social work with a focus on childhood trauma, substance misuse, and suicide prevention.
- Developed the MU-SPEAC (Suicide Prevention Education Across Campus) initiative
- Created core behavioral health curriculum for the MSW program since 2016
- Establishing a Suicide Prevention Research Laboratory engaging Social Work students
Her research interests center on community-based mental health interventions and strengthening safety nets for vulnerable populations through interdisciplinary training programs.
