Paula Meehan is an acclaimed Irish poet and playwright, born in 1955 in Dublin. She studied at Trinity College Dublin and earned an MFA from Eastern Washington University, with influences from Gary Snyder and Carolyn Kizer. As a member of Aosdána and the 2013 Ireland Professor of Poetry, her career bridges academia and creative arts.
