Paula Lentz

Dr. Paula Lentz is Professor and Department Chair in Business Communication and Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Business. She holds additional roles as Student Professional Development Program Coordinator and UW MBA Consortium Academic Program Director.

Her research focuses on organizational rhetoric, business communication pedagogy, and healthcare communication. She has extensively studied how language choices influence organizational practices and policy debates, particularly around gender equity and healthcare policy. Her pedagogical research examines curriculum development approaches for business communication education.

Recent publications demonstrate growing interest in ethical dimensions of business communication, including AI ethics in authorship and rhetorical analysis of nonprofit fundraising strategies. Her work on business communication textbooks has influenced pedagogical approaches across management education.

Dr. Lentz has received multiple awards for teaching and research, including the Francis Weekes Award of Merit from the Association for Business Communication. She directs the Student Professional Development Program and contributes to MBA curriculum development through the UW Consortium.
