Paula Eppich Boyce

Paula Eppich Boyce is an Adjunct Professor and Part-time Literacy Instructor at the University of Southern Maine (USM), specializing in Literacy, Language, and Culture. She holds an MLIS from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and multiple degrees (CAS in Literacy Education, M.Ed in Special Education, and BS in Elementary Education) from USM and the University of Maine. Paula's career spans over 30 years, including roles as an elementary teacher, Title 1 Reading Specialist, district Literacy Specialist, middle school ELA teacher, and current middle school librarian. She teaches graduate and undergraduate literacy courses in both online and face-to-face formats.

Her research interests focus on early literacy, adolescent literacy, and effective online teaching methodologies. Paula actively advocates for literacy initiatives, including professional development for educators and book promotion programs. She serves as a lead mentor, district library coordinator, and facilitator of book clubs, while maintaining membership in the Maine Association of School Libraries. Paula emphasizes the importance of literacy foundations and positive role models for students through her teaching and advocacy.
