Paul Upham is an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Science and Engineering, affiliated with the Integrated Research on Energy, Environment and Society (IREES) department. His research focuses on interdisciplinary environmental social science, particularly energy transitions, socio-technical systems, and innovation studies. Upham has held visiting professorships at institutions like Leuphana University and the University of Utrecht, and is an affiliate at the University of Leeds' Centre for Integrated Energy Research.
His work explores social processes in energy transitions across individual, organizational, and systemic levels, integrating social psychology, geography, and policy analysis.
