Paul Tautorat is a Researcher and PhD candidate at ETH Zurich, affiliated with the Climate Finance and Policy Group (CFP) and Energy and Technology Policy Group (EPG), supervised by Prof. Bjarne Steffen and Prof. Tobias Schmidt. Funded by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy’s ESS program, his research focuses on energy and climate policy impacts on industrial decarbonization in Switzerland, particularly cement and steel sectors.
Education: Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zurich (Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees). Notable research contributions include co-authored papers in Climate Policy, Joule, and pv magazine, addressing topics like cities’ climate commitments, renewable energy experience curves, and decarbonization pathways for heavy industries.
Pre-ETH experience includes consulting at Arthur D. Little (energy and utilities projects in Europe/Middle East) and roles at BMW, Audi Consulting, and Volkswagen. His work spans policy analysis, technological innovation, and interdisciplinary approaches to sustainability challenges.
Publications highlight trends in renewable energy cost dynamics, municipal climate networks’ effectiveness, and low-carbon transitions in food and heavy industries. His research bridges policy design, technological feasibility, and economic viability.
