Paul Scott is Professor of French at the University of Kansas, where he has taught since 2004. He holds affiliate appointments at the Gunn Center for the Study of Science Fiction and the Center for East Asian Studies.

His research examines subversion during the Ancien Régime and the radical potential of science fiction across French literary speculative fiction and international SF television. Current projects include Cognitive Cadavers: The Evolution of the TV Zombie (under contract with McFarland), analyzing rational zombie portrayals in global TV media.
Recent publications span critical editions of 17th-century drama, translations of Pascal, and edited collections on French SF. His teaching includes graduate seminars on French science fiction and courses on identity in early modern France.
