معرفی
Paul S Hill is a Professor in the Department of Oceanography at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Science. His research focuses on sediment dynamics, marine geology, and Earth science with emphasis on processes affecting coastal and shelf environments. He holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College, an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Washington.
Key research areas include sediment transport mechanisms, particle settling behavior, and the impact of anthropogenic activities on coastal systems. He has contributed to understanding sediment delivery to continental margins, flocculation processes, and the effects of climate variability on sedimentary records.
- Recipient of the 2012/13 Award for Excellence in Teaching from the Faculty of Science.
His courses include OCEA 2000 (The Blue Planet), OCEA 3004 (The Last Billion Years), and OCEA 5240 (Special Topics in Oceanography: Particles Module). His work integrates field observations, remote sensing, and numerical modeling.
Publications span over 30 years, addressing topics like floc dynamics, tidal power impacts, and sedimentary responses to extreme events. Collaborative projects involve interdisciplinary approaches to coastal and marine environmental challenges.
