معرفی
Paul R Sievert is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Conservation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His research focuses on conservation biology, physiological ecology, and biostatistics, with an emphasis on understanding and mitigating declines in threatened/endangered species such as freshwater turtles, salamanders, butterflies, and marine birds. He explores energy/water balance impacts on nesting ecology, estivation behavior, and species range boundaries. Quantitative methods for survival rate estimation and population viability analyses are core to his work.
Research interests include the physiological mechanisms driving species survival, with field studies spanning terrestrial and marine ecosystems. His research group collaborates across disciplines to integrate ecological and statistical approaches for conservation solutions. Office located at 319 Holdsworth, with additional affiliation at the Organismic and Evolutionary Biology (OEB) Office, 203 French Hall.
