Eric Liebgold

Eric Liebgold is Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in Biological Sciences at Salisbury University. His research examines conservation ecology using mark-recapture, genetic analysis, and habitat modeling for endangered species including spotted turtles and tiger salamanders.

Research integrates population ecology, evolutionary biology, and conservation genetics to address species declines. Current NSF-funded projects investigate turtle movement ecology and salamander breeding habitat requirements.

Leads field studies on reptile/amphibian populations across Mid-Atlantic ecosystems. Findings have direct applications in state endangered species management plans.

Mentors graduate researchers in applied conservation biology and oversees the Liebgold Lab's field research initiatives.
