Paul Pei

Paul Pei is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Northeastern University. His teaching focuses on statistics, machine learning, and supply chain engineering, including courses like OR 6205: Deterministic Operations Research and IE 7374 ST: Machine Learning in Engineering. He advises undergraduate capstone projects bridging business challenges with data-driven solutions.

Before academia, Pei spent seven years in demand forecasting and planning at U.S. food & beverage companies, leading cross-functional S&OP processes. His research interests include data analytics, AI, and operations research, with a focus on blockchain-enabled supply chains, predictive analytics, and deep learning for business forecasting.

His recent work involves developing time series forecasting models with deep learning and blockchain-IoT platforms for industrial hemp supply chains. He has contributed to biopharmaceutical manufacturing education frameworks to address drug shortages through ASEE conference publications.
