Paul Norris is a Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Edinburgh. He is affiliated with the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research and the Scottish Institute for Policing Research. His research focuses on the intersection of social context, political economy, and crime, with a particular emphasis on public attitudes toward criminal justice systems and the application of quantitative methods.

His research interests include comparative criminology, quantitative methods, and criminal justice policy. He specializes in latent variable models, event history analysis, and multilevel modeling.
