Dr Paul Mitchell is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Department of Government. His research focuses on party competition, coalition governments, electoral systems, and Irish politics. He holds degrees from Manchester University (undergraduate), LSE (Masters), the European University Institute (PhD), and the University of Michigan's ICPSR program. Mitchell has authored works such as Ireland: Coalition Politics in a Fragmenting Party System and The consolidation of coalition politics in the Republic of Ireland. He was a Fulbright Distinguished Scholar at Harvard University (2000-2001).
