معرفی
Dr. Paul Hazendonk is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Lethbridge. His research focuses on the development and application of advanced Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) techniques for studying fluorine-containing materials.
- Current affiliations: University of Lethbridge (Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry)
- Expertise: Solid-state NMR, Fluoropolymers, Spin Dynamics, Chemical Exchange
Research Interests
Dr. Hazendonk investigates molecular-level properties of fluoropolymers (used in coatings, membranes, and garments) and fuel cell materials through innovative solid-state NMR methodologies. His work bridges polymer chemistry, computational chemistry, and materials science.
Grants & Instrumentation
Currently holds NSERC grants (2005-2007: $38,000/year; 2007: $69,850) for solid-state NMR studies of fluorine-containing materials. Utilizes a unique 500 MHz VARIAN INOVA spectrometer at Exploration Place, one of only four globally optimized for fluorine research.
Public Outreach
Featured in Legend magazine (2004: "Researcher Ponders the Properties and Potential Uses of Plastics"; 2002: "New Device to Help Build Better Plastics").
