Paul Gordon is a Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, Department of Family and Community Medicine. He practices family medicine and serves as Co-Director of the Bachelor of Science in Medicine program. Dr. Gordon directs the Standardized Patient program and teaches clinical reasoning and bedside medicine to medical students.

- B.A. in Medical Ethics from Brown University
His research focuses on medical education, underserved healthcare, and women’s health. He developed innovative teaching methods using standardized patients for evidence-based medicine skills and pioneered the use of ultrasound in reproductive system exams. His work on Obamacare perception through cross-country listening tours revealed public health policy misunderstandings.
Recent publications examine subcutaneous blinatumomab for leukemia treatment and standardized patient programs in medical education. He has received numerous awards including the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award and STFM President’s Award.

Dr. Gordon leads the Doctor & Patient program and teaches across the continuum from medical students to residents. His work with the TotShots free clinic demonstrates commitment to underserved populations. He has over 30 years of continuous service at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
