Paul Gordon is an Assistant Professor Educator in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. His research develops low-cost diagnostic technologies for global health applications, including portable microscopy systems for malaria detection and microfluidic devices for resource-limited settings. Gordon creates optical systems using centrifugal lens fabrication and waveguide-based sensors.
He focuses on point-of-care devices integrating brightfield/fluorescence microscopy, microfluidics, and Raman spectroscopy. Gordon teaches medical device design courses and coordinates the Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering program. His work addresses neglected tropical diseases through field-deployable diagnostic platforms.
