Paul Gendreau is a Professor at the School of Psychoeducation within the Faculty of Arts and Science at Université de Montréal. His research focuses on biological development and psychosocial maladjustment in children, with expertise in aggression, developmental psychopathology, and the biological bases of psychosocial development. He has supervised over a dozen master's theses exploring topics like cannabis use moderation, school dropout correlates, and the role of parental support in adolescent behavior.
He leads research projects funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), including a 2023-2026 knowledge exchange grant. Previously, he contributed to the CIQSS interdisciplinary research center (2008-2015). His teaching includes advanced psychoeducation courses for master’s programs in Montreal and Laval.
