معرفی
Dr Paul Fry is a Research Fellow and Electron Beam Lithography Facility Manager at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Sheffield. He also serves as Head of Materials Characterisation for the National Epitaxy Facility. His academic career began with a MPhys in Physics (1997) and a PhD in Semiconductor Physics (2001), both from the University of Sheffield’s Department of Physics and Astronomy.
Dr Fry’s research focuses on nanotechnology and semiconductor physics, particularly the fabrication of nanostructures using electron beam lithography and the study of optical/electronic properties of semiconductor quantum dots. He has contributed to advancements in magnetic nanowire networks, domain wall dynamics, and plasmonic devices. His work bridges computational modeling, experimental nanofabrication, and materials characterization.
Recent publications highlight his exploration of magnetic metamaterials for reservoir computing, stochastic synapses in neuromorphic systems, and hybrid plasmon lasers. His articles span journals like Communications Physics, Neuromorphic Computing and Engineering, and Advanced Functional Materials, reflecting interdisciplinary contributions to nanotechnology and spintronics.
Dr Fry oversees key facilities including the Electron Beam Lithography Lab and the National Epitaxy Facility, enabling cutting-edge research in materials science and device fabrication. He collaborates widely, with projects funded through grants and partnerships in photonics, nanoelectronics, and computational modeling.
