Paul Fabozzi is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Art and Design at St. John's University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He holds a B.F.A. from Alfred University and an M.F.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, with additional studies in Italy. His work focuses on spatial experience, perception, and the interplay between architecture and human awareness. Fabozzi's paintings and works on paper have been exhibited globally, including in the U.S., Italy, and South Korea. His work is featured in major collections like the San Diego Museum of Art and the New York Public Library.
Research interests center on how image-making constructs relationships with physical environments, emphasizing shadows, urban spaces, and architectural forms. Notable works include the 'Lucera' series (2024-2025), exploring shadow dynamics in Puglia, Italy, and the 'Reflection Point: MoMA' series (2022), analyzing spatial awareness in New York. Awards include a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship (NYFA) and recognition from the Café Royal Cultural Foundation.
As an educator, Fabozzi has edited Artists, Critics, Context (2002), a seminal anthology on contemporary art discourse. His artistic practice spans oil paintings, mixed media, and site-specific installations, often blending geometric abstraction with urban documentation. Current projects include 'LIC Morphology' (2026, Garage Art Center) and 'Utò Lo Spazio della Luce' in Italy (2025).
