Paul Deslandes is a Professor and Associate Dean for Student Success in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Vermont, Department of History. He specializes in British history, the British Empire, gender and sexuality, and Anglo-American cultural relations. Educated at Trinity College (B.A.), the University of Toronto (M.A., Ph.D.), he previously taught at Texas Tech University. His research focuses on masculinity, urban history, and LGBTQ+ studies. He authored award-winning books like The Culture of Male Beauty in Britain (2021), which won the Morris D. Forkosch Prize, and Oxbridge Men (2005/2015). He served as Chief Reader for AP European History (2013–2018, 2021–2022) and edits the Cultural History of Beauty series. His current project explores wealthy Americans’ influence on British architecture.
