Dr Paul Deb is an Honorary Fellow at the School of Politics, Philosophy and Area Studies, University of East Anglia. His academic journey includes a Commonwealth Scholarship at Jadavpur University (India), studies at SOAS, and a PhD at the University of Warwick (funded by the British Academy). Specializing in ethics, philosophy of religion, and continental philosophy, he explores intersections between philosophy and the arts (film, literature) as well as existentialism and phenomenology.
Teaching focuses on radical philosophy, existential philosophies, and interdisciplinary courses like Philosophy & Literature. He holds fellowships from the Higher Education Academy and maintains memberships in organizations including the British Philosophical Association and British Wittgenstein Society. Notable awards include the Association of Commonwealth Universities Commonwealth Scholarship (1995) and British Academy Research Studentship (1997).
