Paul D. Lehrman

Paul D. Lehrman is a Teaching Professor of Music at Tufts University, School of Arts and Sciences, specializing in computer music, audio engineering, and multimedia arts. He holds a PhD from Tufts University (2010), an MA from Lesley University (2000), and a BFA from Purchase College Conservatory (1975). His research focuses on electronic music technology, instrument design, and interdisciplinary applications of music in film, television, and education.

• Coordinator of Music Technology overseeing audio/visual systems in concert halls and labs

Lehrman’s expertise includes ProTools, Max/MSP, and hardware/software synthesis. He has performed globally with renowned orchestras and designed sound for PBS, Discovery Channel, and A&E. His technical journalism and historical research on Ballet Mécanique highlight his bridging of art and technology.

He has directed interdisciplinary student projects and advises pre-music majors. His academic service includes roles in Tufts’ Information Technology committee and supervision of technical staff.
