Paul Craig

Dr. Paul Craig is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Waterloo, specializing in environmental and epigenetic mechanisms in teleosts under climate stressors and pollutants. His research bridges molecular biology and ecological physiology.

Research Focus: Epigenetic regulation (DNA methylation, histone modification, microRNA) in fish species exposed to chronic stressors such as pharmaceutical contaminants and temperature changes. Key themes include transgenerational inheritance of stress responses and local species adaptation along the Grand River.

Scientific Contributions: Utilizes next-generation sequencing, qPCR, metabolomics, and bioinformatics to dissect stress-induced phenotypes. His lab's work has implications for climate change resilience and aquatic health monitoring.
