Paul Christopher Michael Fogg

Dr. Paul Christopher Michael Fogg is a Senior Lecturer at the University of York, specializing in the Department of Biology. His research focuses on the mechanisms and implications of horizontal gene transfer (HGT) in bacterial evolution and antibiotic resistance dissemination.

Research Interests: HGT drives bacterial adaptation through conjugation, transformation, and transduction. Dr. Fogg's lab investigates gene transfer agents (GTAs), virus-like entities that indiscriminately transfer DNA between bacteria, with particular emphasis on their role in spreading antibiotic resistance genes and virulence factors.
